Bolt action with manual cocking. The tapered round barrel is 22" long. It is mounted with a bead style front sight and a tiny notch style rear sight each dovetailed into the barrel. Top of the barrel is stamped "O.F. MOSSBERG & SONS/NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A." the right side of the barrel ahead of the action is stamped "22 SHORT LONG/AND LONG RIFLE." Barrel is smooth and gray in color with strong hints of original blue finish. Receiver is faded to gray but edges and corners are sharp and all markings are excellent. The action works perfectly. One piece beechwood stock is in excellent condition showing very little wear. It has much of the original varnish remaining. It is mounted with a stamped steel buttplate which h as been painted black. Steel triggerguard is also blackened with original finish. Overall condition is near excellent. Modern long gun rules apply.
