Overall length is 16". The tapered round barrel is 9" long and is bored to .54 caliber. The barrel coloration is dull gray with very fine pinpoint roughness covering most of the surface. Similar finish is present on the single double loop barrel band and on the steel backstrap. The buttcap and triggerguard are fairly smooth and free from most of that very light pitting. The lockplate is smooth and dull gray with some very light roughness also. It is lightly marked "S.NORTH/MIDLn CONn" surrounding an American eagle. Markings are mostly legible but are somewhat light. No date is present on the lockplate. The action works well and the lockplate is original flint. The walnut stock shows considerable wear and use. Quite a few dents and scratches are present overall. Faint cartouche is present on the left side and a small crack has opened extending from the triggerguard to the rear of the barrel. Tapered metal ramrod is located beneath the barrel. Overall condition is about very good.
