17687 COLT NEW SERVICE DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER

Old model. Serial number 2252, made in 1900. British proof marks are present on the frame, barrel and cylinder. Caliber is .455 Eley. The round barrel is 5 ½" long. It is well marked with Colt's address and patent dates on top and "NEW SERVICE .455 ELEY." on the left side. The barrel has about 70% original shiny blue finish. Frame has about 90% finish remaining with 85% remaining on the cylinder. The action works perfectly. Some of the original fire blue finish is present on the hammer with some of it flaking. Excellent fire blue finish remains on the smooth trigger. Two piece checkered hard rubber grips are present and show very little wear. Lanyard is located on the butt. Overall condition is excellent.
