Overall length is 16". The tapered round barrel is just under 9" long and 72 caliber smoothbore. The barrel is smooth and gray outside with some very light brown staining. No pitting is present except for some very light roughness around the touchhole area. The barrel is attached to the stock by a double loop brass barrel band which fits flush with the muzzle. The stock extends to the end of the muzzle also. The flintlock mechanism is 5" long and has a flat face with a beveled edge. Coloration is dull brownish gray and smooth with no pitting. Lock mechanism is original flintlock and has not been reconverted. Flat faced double throated hammer is present. Stock is made of walnut and is dark brown in color with nice patina. Stock shows moderate use. Brass furniture includes the buttcap, triggerguard, sideplate and nosecap. Overall condition is very good plus.
